The Headquarters Public Order Branch OCU, headed by a Chief Superintendent, administers Public Order on behalf of the Assistant Commissioner 1 Area (Central) in support of his Servicewide responsibility for maintenance of the Queen's Peace. It was formed on April 1995, following the recommendations of the Service Restructuring Team and the Public Order and Mounted Branch Scrutinies.
